This Sun Odyssey 519 is currently used as a charter boat. I viewed her while she was out of the water for her winter maintenance. When I photographed her I also had the opportunity to meet the team responsible for managing her and for her maintenance. They had already started work on her hull (anti-fouling treatment). The Marcon 34 is a centre cockpit design with a separate aft cabin accessed through a companionway behind the steering wheel. The aft cabin incorporates the navigation area, with a huge space available for charts. This creates a much more spacious saloon area. There are not many of these useful little cruisers around now. Very solidly built, a very cheap first weekend cruiser. The high prow keeps her very dry in a seaway and there is a large boat feel down below. Simple reefing when shorthanded with a lot of the power coming from the large genoa, extended with an attractive bowsprit.
