Marina Parque das Naçoes. Lisboa Portugal|
Oceana is a classic Sparkman and Stephens designed yacht perfect for blue water cruising. She has crossed all the oceans with various globe trotting owners and now awaits her next adventure. For sale due to a change of career Oceana was my live aboard home for 17 years in Europe, South America and the Caribbean. Located in Lisbon, Portugal, she is well placed for a Med cruise, her next ocean crossing or as an escape from Brexit. Oceana is easy to sail (I made three single handed trans-Atlantics), a safe sea kind vessel with a great pedigree.

The entire interior is fitted out in teak and all interior linings are fibreglass giving strength and durability. Forward is a forepeak with a double berth and storage, a manual toilet and sink are housed in the heads opposite which a hanging locker and more storage gives way to the main saloon. Here are two settee berths, one pulls out to make a double and a table which folds up to the forward bulkhead. Storage is found behind the settee berths. Aft is the galley to starboard and the nav station to port. Behind the nav station is a pilot berth with the battery box below.
Built back in the day when craftsmen built boats Oceana has a very thick, strong hull and plenty of wood in the interior. The hull has a deep V with a long fin and skeg hung rudder giving her excellent tracking and handling in rough weather.
Oceana has been sailed offshore extensively as a live-aboard cruiser and comes with many extras including a portable Honda 2000i 120v generator and power tools, 2 x 75W Keiocera solar panels, Aerogen 12 wind generator, 8’ Mercury inflatable dinghy with outboard, Windhelm wind pilot, awning, sewing machine, aluminium spinnaker pole, heavy weather drogue, jerry cans for petrol, water and diesel, bosun’s chair, 600W sine wave inverter, Xantrex 30A battery charger, 2 x Barient 27 self tailing primary winches, 4 x Barlow 16 winches, 45lb CQR main anchor, fishing gear and too many spares to mention.
VHF base station, VHF handheld, AIS reciever, GPS and radar will all have to be checked to see if they are still functioning (last used in 2016).
Oceana comes equipped with a Plastimo Olympic 135 steering compass, Davis sextant, Walker trailing log and lead line.
Powered by a Yanmar 3YM30 diesel engine located under the main saloon floor. The engine in mounted just above the keel ballast with the shaft exiting the aft of the keel form. This configuration keeps the weight down low for righting momentum and the placement of the three blade prop behind the keel helps prevent strikes and fouling of the propeller. The engine is accessed by removing the cover and cabin sole to give all round access for maintenance and servicing.
