The vessel was purchased by a professional mariner in 1997 from the second owner. The objective was to rebuild the Boat for extensive international cruising including all climates in comfort and safety. This was successfully achieved without compromise.
The ‘New Build’ commenced in 2000 - Initially the vessel was completely stripped out to the bare Hull. The complete inside was Grit blasted to bare metal and painted with Hempel 15300 Zink Epoxy with a total of 6 Coats. (12 Tons of Grit was used).
Following this massive task insulation used was completed with 2-part Polyurethane foam in 35 Kg density sprayed onto the hull and then immediately expand on the hull.
A total thickness of 6 to 8 cm was the result. This was carried out over the entire interior and extending 10 cm under the water line of the boat. The result was a very quiet vessel extremely well insulated in both warm and cold temperatures. Additionally providing a very dry interior with no build-up of condensation. The exterior was Hot Galvanized and the underwater area blasted and treated with Hempel. Hempadur Quatro was used. In total 8 coats were rolled onto the Hull.
Following this, the interior wood work was completed by a professional boat builder using Khaya - a clear mahogany. The the new build was completed in 2009. Over the following 18 years the vessel had minimal use and only cruised several times during the european winter from mid-November through mid-March as the owner was fully engaged in Europe as a professional Port Captain.
As testament to performance, it has cruised without issues from Almeria to Madeira, Canaries, Cap Verde, Cap Verde, Senegal, Gambia, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Falkland Islands, Antarctica Chili (Patagonia an the renowned inland Chanels), Juan Fernandez Islands (Robinson Crusoe), Easter Island, Pitcairn Island (Bounty), The Gambier Islands, and finely the Marquesas.
Currently in ‘Paradise’ with all import taxes paid, this beautiful vessel is in turn key condition. Now awaiting new owners, it is ideally positioned for cruising the islands of Hawaii and embarking on further adventures in safety and comfort to global destinations.
