Description
2009 RORC Yacht of the Year
PUMA is hull no.3 of the Reflex 38's built for Clipper Ventures by Harley Raceboats on the Isle of Wight in 1999. The designer of the Reflex 38, Christian Stimson, has been elected to Fellow of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects and currently sits as President on the RINA (NZ) Council.
PUMA was RORC yacht of the year in 2009, and was RORC school boat of the year for 7 seasons in a row (as Puma Logic / Visit Malta Puma). In 2013 she was first in class on RTIR and in class 3 at Cowes Week.
During the current ownership, since 2014, this Reflex 38 has seen more success, mainly inshore with a class win in the Hamble Winter Series, and a class second in the Warsash Spring Series.
PUMA sails very well against First 40CR, Elan 410 and 40.7. Widely acknowledged as the fastest Reflex 38 - and the results show this. Still strong upwind - beat and fetch. Ideal boat for a RORC season, including Fastnet 2019 - Fast, Safe and Stiff.
