Description
'Taipan' was built in 1987 in Taiwan, to the designs of Kaufman and Ladd of Annapolis Maryland USA.
She was specified by her first owners to be built as an 'owners version' as opposed to the more common charter layout, allowing for a more comfortable interior. She was launched in Fremantle, Western Australia, for her owners to use to follow the America's Cup.
Her current owners have refitted her on several occasions, including extensively refitting the deck to rid her of leaks, adding a hard top dodger and rearranging the interior layout to add a workshop/laundry.
