Bruce Roberts 44ft centre cockpit Mauritius built in 1977.
“OLA” (One Last Adventure, before dementia) was built in 1977, she is a Ketch rigged cutter, built to cross oceans; she has already done one circumnavigation and is ready to travel the seas again. An excellent passage maker.

Starting from the Bow, large anchor and chain locker and storage for warps/lines, the bulkhead aft of this forms a water tight collision bulkhead.
Forward cabin with port and starboard berths with storage under, this could be made into a double with the addition of a ply infill. Cupboards under deck head port and starboard above each berth.
Aft of this cabin on port side large head with toilet, wash hand basin and shower. Ample storage cupboards in head.
Opposite on starboard side are large full height storage lockers, one fitted with slide out drawers, other with shelves and full length hanging for jackets etc.
Main saloon with table that converts into a double berth on port side, seating on starboard side with lockers beneath and behind.
Nav table on port side with cupboards under, galley on starboard side with sink,
New Neptune 4500 2 burner, grill and oven fitted October 2019, storage drawers and cupboards at one side.
Large capacity top opening fridge next to sink. The fridge is a new Isotherm GE80 which was fitted October 2019
Work surface with fitted plate storage above.
Freshwater filtered drinking system with separate tap, also separate sea water tap with foot pump.
Main cockpit bulkhead,
Opening in bulkhead on starboard side leading to continuation of galley and walk through to aft cabin. This walk through has worktop and cupboards with microwave oven, also has storage cupboard fitted with drawers for food storage etc.
Opening in bulkhead on port side leading to workshop with full standing head room, worktop fitted with vice. This area also gives full access to engine and batteries.
Double berth on port side with large storage area underneath. Hanging locker, also cupboards with storage drawers.
Sea toilet and wash hand basin on port side with cupboards and office area.
Ladder up to cockpit aft companionway.
The main aft bulkhead is also a water tight bulkhead, on the other side of this bulk head is the aft locker accessed from deck, this locker is very large for sails fenders etc.
She is built of single skin GRP with a laminate that is approximately 1inch thick, the deck is conventional ply and beam construction, which has been GRP sheathed. Both the hull and deck are in excellent condition with no blisters or osmosis.
OLA has all new skin fittings and sea cocks fitted as well as new cutlass bearing November 2018.
The standing rigging has been replaced in November 2019 with KOS 8mm 1x19 stainless steel wire and 10 mm KOS wire for the for-stay and back stays.
All the norsman terminals checked and re-used with new wedges as they were in excellent condition, in the re-rigging process stalok terminals were used in place of some of the swaged terminals and all bottle screws removed and serviced, if any were unsuitable they were replaced with stalok rigging screws.
New stalok rigging screws were used for the forstay and back stays.
Chain plates were checked and are also in excellent condition with no water ingress or leaks.
Sails are in good condition, there is also a spare main in usable condition, the headsails are both furling sails and are approximately 4 years old. The foil and drums were serviced and new stainless steel bearings fitted November 2019
New sail covers made and fitted October 2019 along with new fitted cockpit seat cushions.
Stainless steel stanchions with a stainless taffrail running all around the deck. Guard rail netting has been fitted around the deck but this is easily removed if not required.
GPS with repeater in cockpit that is linked to note pad running seamap charts with world coverage, also memory stick with full charts of Mediterranean running on Open CPN, which can be used on windows laptop etc.
Clipper wind, depth, and GPS repeater. 12volt electrical system, house batteries in good condition, 4x solar panels totalling 240 watt mounted on stainless steel frame over rear of cockpit, which give an excess of power to keep the batteries charged and cover the daily power consumption. Electrical system running through BM1 battery monitor, and solar regulator.
New AIS with built in GPS. Fitted November 2019
New icom ic-m330 fixed VHF fitted november2019, there is also a hand held VHF
240 volt system also installed with both UK and European sockets throughout the boat.
2KVA 240 volt deck mounted diesel generator supplying all boats electrical requirements when needed.
Sterling smart battery charger for when connected to shore power, but this has never been needed as 240w solar panels keep batteries well charged.
Hot and cold pressurised running water, OLA carries approximately 1000 litres of fresh water in 3 tanks, 2 tanks either side of the keel and starboard aft tank. All running to a manifold allowing independent switching of tanks.
Hot water is provided by a stainless steel calorifier running from the engine water system and also has a 240v immersion heater with duel thermostats for engine and main voltage.
The main cabin has a Dickinsons Chesapeake diesel heater.
Seago 230 inflatable which has had very little use and a new Suzuki 2.5hp 4 stroke new in November 2019 with only 30 minutes running time. 3.5 hp tohatsu 2 stroke outboard is also included.
New clinker built wooden hard dinghy not been in water yet.
There is also an air conditioning unit in the saloon which is 6 months old.
New fenders in socks and fender baskets.
New swim stainless steel swim platform which combines a mounting bracket for fitting a hydrovane self -steering system fitted November 2019
Main anchors are a Bruce 35kg and 45kg Rocner type, with 100 meters of ½ inch (13 mm) galv chain. Electric windlass with rope drum, this windlass is old but works very well and is simple to repair as it is based on a common starter motor of which parts are simple to source and easy to fit.
Stern anchor is a danforth with of 70 meters of chain this runs through a manual windlass. There is also a 25kg CQR anchor and a 35kg fisherman.
Perkins 4108 recently serviced runs well and has had a new raw water pump fitted this year, comprehensive spares kit from head gasket to filters, also a full service and repair manual Starts and runs well.
OLA carries 500 litres of diesel in 2 separate port and starboard tanks giving her an exceptional motoring range. New exhaust flexible hose system fitted from water lock to transom in November 2019
The stern gland has been serviced and new packing fitted November 2019 along with new cutlass bearing.
